(Short On Time... Read The Highlights)

Hello And Welcome...This is a blog to document my 6-7 year 22,000 km hiking trip to all 3 of Canada's Oceans, Atlantic, Pacific, and Arctic. I have chosen to do this via the Trans Canada Trail

Why?...Well my goal was to not only hike it all but to learn a little from each Province & Territory as I passed through. In essence I am compiling an in depth look into Canadian culture, past and present one step at a time. I stop to learn, experience the many aspects of Canadian history and life as well as meet the people who live in each area interviewing them to gain a unique regional perspective.

How?...I document this with Video's, Pictures, Updates, and Notes which I hope to assemble into a book. The Trans Canada Trail is perfect for this as it's designed not like the Trans Canada Highway but rather as a way to connect as many communities as possible uniting the Country the way it was founded through Trails, Lakes, and Rivers. Thus it is the perfect route to choose when wanting to experience Canadian history, culture, bio-diversity, or the many landscapes it has to offer.

It Should Be noted that I hike alone except maybe the odd group of newly acquired friends that tag along . . . . My friend Natalie joined me for 8 day's once from Toronto to Niagara Falls. It was a tremendous amount of fun and nice to talk to someone other than myself. That's not to say I don't enjoy my own company, but lets face it. A very one sided conversation though very agreeable I may add. Anyway. I also have some rules I have followed as guide lines.

I MAY ONLY INQIRE ABOUT 4 THINGS

1- Water hot or Cold

2- Permission to pitch camp on property

3- Directions . . . Yes I've been lost . . a few times

4- Use outlets to charge electronics & batteries

Everything else must be offered to some degree or another within the bounds of reason and responsibility . . .

What is the Trans Canada Trail?...The Trail, when complete is a 22,000 km long recreation Trail that will span every Province and Territory in Canada. It is designed to "showcase" the country connecting Canadians and Travellers alike to endless possibilities.

Lol...No worries you don't have to travel this extreme to enjoy the trail. There are many ECO-FRIENDLY ways to enjoy it. I've seen people on Bicycles, Roller Blades, Roller Shoes, Roller Ski's, Roller Blades, Roller Skates, Unicycles, Electric Carts, Shopping Carts, Walking, Running, Jogging, Horseback, Piggy Back, Hiking, Canoeing, Crawling, Skipping, and I'm sure a few other I've forgotten about over the years. The important thing, is to just get out there. 80% of all Canadians live within 30 min of the trail...But just getting outside and appreciating what is all around us is the most important part . . . . .
